Gospel on the Move
This last month has been filled with so much excitement and joy. Earlier in August Ashley's parents were able to come visit. It was such a treat to spend time with them. Last week we welcomed back our students and interns from their 3 week holiday and are thankful to be jumping into the final term of the year with them.
Over the past week, we have had tons of opportunity for community outreach and evangelism. Last Wednesday our students and interns had the opportunity to serve the community of Cosmo City and Cosmo City Baptist Church as we helped spruce up the church premises, pick up rubbish, share the gospel and have our weekly kids ministry at the church. It was a great day!
Last Friday we had the opportunity to partner with Jabez Ministries to reach the surrounding area with the gospel, pray with people and connect them to the church so they can continue being discipled. Today was a stark reminder that people are hurting and so in need of the hope and restoration that can only come through a relationship with Christ. We are thankful for this opportunity and pray that the seeds planted would continue to grow as people come to trust in Christ. This past Saturday we partnered with a church at Etwatwa in the East Rand to share the gospel in the community. Some of their church members joined the DTC students as we went out to share the gospel. I was partnered with two of the teens, Richie and Karabo, from the church to go and share door to door. It was great because they did not know how to share the gospel so I had the opportunity to teach as we went house to house to share. They closely observed when I was sharing the gospel and then after the gospel conversation, they would ask more questions. After the third house, they too wanted to share the gospel even though they were afraid they still wanted to start the conversation and where they could not share or if they were not sure they would ask me to explain and then they would continue with the conversation. It was great to see after every conversation the excitement they had for sharing Jesus with others. It was encouraging to be reminded that the more we share Christ with others the more joyful we become. Please be praying for Richie and Karabo that they would have the same passion all the time to tell people about Jesus and what He has done for them.
Overall, we were able to have 131 gospel conversations and 18 people made a decision to trust in Christ for salvation. We are so thankful for your love, care, encouragement and involvement in our ministry. It is such a blessing! We pray that the Lord continues to bless you and use you to further his kingdom!
