Making the Most of the Time
July has looked a lot different from what we thought it would. Due to the third wave of covid, we were put on a stricter lockdown where gatherings were prohibited. As a result, we had to postpone the 2 camps we had planned for July and pause our weekly kids and teens ministries. We're thankful that we were able to continue with our Discipleship Training Center with our students and interns and praise the Lord that our lockdown was dropped this past week. We are excited to be able to move forward with our camps and return to church and various ministries.
The interns helped keep things exciting for the students by organizing a spirit week with a different theme for dress up each day (left) and a fun day with an obstacle course competition (right). |
We partner with an international ministry called Dare 2 Share Ministries that like us, is seeking to reach youth with the gospel. Once a month, they have an initiative called #goshareday where they invite teens to share the gospel with their unsaved friends. Over the past month our students, interns, and some staff set aside a few afternoons and used LI6W app (life in 6 words), WhatsApp, and other social media to share the Gospel to the unbelievers they know. As s a result, 112 people from South Africa, China, Kenya and Hong Kong heard the Gospel and 12 people professed to trust in Christ.
Though we have been limited in how we can do ministry right now due to lockdown, we are grateful for the many opportunities we still have.
I am thankful for the opportunity I've had this term to teach the book of Romans to our DTC students. It has been a great study for me personally as I look at the book in more details and being encouraged by Paul to not be ashamed of the gospel and continue to renew our minds with the truth of Gods word. During this period of COVID it has been important to continue to remind myself and the students of the truth of Gods word and applying it. Please continue to pray for us as we plan for the remainder of the year as we minster to our students attending DTC, Youth Pastors, Pastors, and our own local church that we would continue to encourage others and remind them that God is God even through these unprecedented times.
We are so thankful for your love, care, encouragement and involvement in our ministry. It is such a blessing! We pray that the Lord continues to bless you and use you to further his kingdom!
Please Pray...
- for wisdom, vision and intentionality in our various roles- for us to continue to grow in our marriage and as parents
- for discipleship relationships with students and interns
- that the Lord would continue to grow and add to our team
- that we would be faithful in all God has entrusted to us
- upcoming camps/missions trip to Potchefstroom & Hazyview
