Finishing Strong
The last month has been full of ministry and excitement as we finished off our last Woman of Worth conference of the year, closed out youth group and our young adults small group with end of year Christmas parties, had our annual Thanksgiving celebration and BBISA/DTC graduation. What a blessing to be able to celebrate the goodness of God with the people we have the opportunity to serve and minister alongside.
Our Thanksgiving celebration and DTC/BBISA graduation which took place last Saturday was such a special time as we gathered as a staff along with some of our ministry partners and families of the students just to reflect on all the Lord has done this year as well as celebrate God's work in each of our student's lives. It has been a challenging year for them as many of their hopes and expectations this year were stripped away as they were limited in many of the things they were meant to do as part of their year with us. However, God continued His work in each student's life and has grown them in so many ways. In fact, we get to welcome 4 of them back next year as interns! Can't wait to continue this journey with them.
While we are excited to welcome these new interns to our team, we are sad to say goodbye to others who have been with us the past year or 2. We are so grateful for each of them and what they added to our team and are excited for what God has for them in the future!
- From left to right...
- Josh will continue serving as an intern next year as the camps intern working alongside Thato. His goal is to be in full time ministry.
- Corina has decided to extend her internship for another year serving in South Korea and Africa hoping to gain new experiences as she determines where the Lord would have her serve long term.
- Faith will continue serving with us next year in the kitchen/housekeeping and hospitality. She is also hoping to study education through online studies.
- Biruk (on the ground) is planning to return to the states and gain some work experience before returning to the mission field in Africa better equipped to serve with his technical skills.
- Sihle is returning home and is currently looking for an opportunity to serve full time in a local church.
- Boyzee is returning home to serve as the youth pastor at his church. "I am thankful for the changes He has made in my life and how can I forget to thank Him for the amazing opportunity that he granted me to come back to WOL and serve Him."
We are excited to finish the year off with camps! Though it will look nothing like what we usually do, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve. This year we will be focusing our ministry on kids from 2 different orphanages as well as kids and teens from a community in Welkom, several hours away, alongside a church we partner with. We can't wait to minister together as an entire team of staff, interns, and students and look forward to seeing what the Lord will do!
Thanks so much for your love, support, and prayers especially during this challenging year. We love and appreciate you so much and can't wait to see many of you during our furlough in just over a month! Please let us know how we can specifically be praying for you!
Please Pray...
- praise the Lord that we were able to get Thato & Leilani's passports! Please pray for us as we travel- for our final camps for the year that God would use it both in the lives of our team and those we are serving (Dec 4-11)
- for students and interns as they move on to what God has for them next
- for at least 1 more guy intern for 2021
- for strength and wisdom as we prepare and pack to leave on Dec 17
