Sweet Opportunities
Missions trip to Potch
Thank you all again for partnering with us in ministry. We are always thankful and grateful to you from our Lord Jesus. As you all know, this year we had to cancel most of the events, camps and trips we had planned due to COVID-19. That only allowed us to keep encouraging youth leaders and pastors that we work with by calling and finding out how they are doing and how we can be praying for them. However, in September, the doors opened for additional ministry when our President lessened the regulations gave us more freedom. We had the opportunity to take the DTC students and interns on a missions trip to Potchefstroom where we did some evangelism, children’s ministry and different projects in the community. We served alongside True Word Bible Church with Pastor Lance, a former DTC student. Though our original plan to serve in Durban did not work out, we had a an amazing week of ministry and it was such a blessing seeing the hunger that we all had as a team to share the gospel with others. Over the course of the week, we were able to minister to 259 people, 50 of which trusted Christ. The students were challenged and encouraged during the week of ministry and Caitlin, one of the DTC students, shares below how the trip impacted here:
“God truly works miraculously doesn't He? Each and every student was prepared to experience Durban yet God had something different planned. I'm about to share one unique experience I had never encountered before. During this week God truly worked within my heart. Living and fellowshipping amongst people who are living in bad conditions humbled me. I got to put myself in the shoes of some broken-hearted people and children living in this community. From long drop toilets to carrying heavy buckets of water, I ensured that I got the full experience. Ministering and serving was most definitely the highlight! Door to door evangelism was not just a platform where we were able to exercise our gospel sharing abilities but it was an opportunity where students were able to share the love of God with others. Being able to share the hope we are able to have in Christ with others truly opened my eyes. I came to realize that the gospel message is something urgent which needs to be shared and I praise the Lord for working within my heart to realize this urgency. It was a true blessing to work and serve in Potchefstroom.”
WOW Conferences
After several months of sending out bi-weekly videos of encouragement directed to ladies, we were finally able to hold 2 out of 3 of our Woman of Worth Conferences for the year. It was such a special time as ladies came together after having such little interaction or events this year. Our theme for this year was 'A Call to Courage' with a timely challenge from the life of Deborah to step out in faith-filled obedience and boldness and seek an intimate relationship with Christ. The ladies were so blessed and encouraged by the wonderful messages, practical discussions and sweet time of fellowship. Please pray for our last conference of the year next Saturday (Oct 31).
Family Update
- Leilani is 3 months old and is talking, giggling, & rolling over. She is so much fun!
- We are planning a furlough for next year (January-March). Please pray that we are able to get Thato & Leilani's passports quickly so we can book our tickets and that it would be a fruitful time of reconnecting with people and support raising. We can't wait to see everyone!
Please Pray...
