Connected

February flew by and March is already almost over! It's been a crazy past few week but the Lord is definitely still at work! The students are have almost completed their first term and already learning and growing a ton. The interns have settled into their various roles and are also growing as they are stretched and given new responsibilities.

Word of Life's South Africa's theme for this year that runs throughout our camps, conferences and events is "Connected". We're thankful for several opportunities this past month to connect with our partnering churches and leaders in different provinces. It was such a blessing to catch up with them, do some training, and plan for future events.

Cape Town Connections

As always, it was such a joy and blessing to catch up with people in Cape Town. We are so grateful for the many partnerships we have developed there and excited for how our ministry there will continue to develop. We had a great time of leadership training with some of the youth and children's leaders and were also able to connect with many of the pastors throughout our time there.

Durban Connections

This past month we also had the opportunity to visit Durban and catch up with our teammates  and a pastor we work with there as well as do some planning for upcoming camps and trips later this year. It was a great time and we can't wait to see how God will use these camps and missions trips that we will be partnering together on.

Intern Outings

We are now up to 6 interns as Biruk, who was here for a short time last year, has returned to complete his internship with us this year. We are grateful to have him back as part of the team! In addition to our weekly intern meetings where we take time to share, pray together, and discuss various aspects of personal growth and leadership as we read through a book together, we also got to have a fun outing together this past week! We had a great time just hanging out together, eating good food, and chilling at a park. We are so thankful for each of them, their desire to serve, and their involvement in the ministry here. God is already shaping them and using them in so many ways and it's awesome to be a part of their journeys. It's not always an easy journey but it is so worth it!

Bosasa

Bosasa has started back up again which is a huge praise, It is no longer called Bosasa now; it is called Enviro-mongz. It is great to see the guys again, Since the ownership has changed there are more guys coming in the prison. Please pray for the kids in society as many of them are ending up in prison, So far since going back, I see new boys coming in weekly. It is a bad situation. Pray for our young people.

As you are all well aware, we're living in some hectic times. We have had to postpone two of our camps due to the Coronavirus and advisories from our government. Yesterday it was announced that we will be having a 3-week nationwide lockdown starting Thursday night. Please pray for us in this time that God would use us to be a blessing and source of hope and encouragement during this time. While we will not be coming into the office or holding our normal weekly ministries, we will be working from home and seek to connect with people via social media. Our students will finish off their term from home via online classes. It's a crazy time worldwide but God is still in complete control and we are trusting his goodness and sovereignty and ask that he use this time to grow believers and turn unbelieving hearts to him. Trusting him to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or imagine! (Eph 3:20)

Thank you for your partnership in sharing the gospel. We are so grateful for your prayers, support & encouragement as we continue serving Him!
