Student Fusion | 10 days with eternal impact

A few weeks ago, we welcomed this group of 28 teens and leaders for Student Fusion, a trip out of the US designed to get teens involved in and exposed to missions around the world. We loved hosting and ministering alongside this awesome group. We prayed for each of them as they were preparing to come that the Lord would do a work in each individual's heart. We didn't know where they were coming from or what their walks with the Lord were like but we prayed that God would use the trip to make a lasting impact in their lives and that he would use it possibly even lay on some of their hearts a burden for full time ministry or missions. The Lord definitely answered our prayers and we are grateful for all the Lord did in the team's lives as well as the lives of those we had the opportunity to minister to. We look forward to seeing how God continues to work.

The day after the team arrived, we hit the ground running, We had the opportunity to do a youth combined at a local church we have recently started working alongside. Over 80 youth came together from several different churches for some fun and time in God's Word. After sharing the gospel, several of them made the decision to trust Christ as their Saviour!

School Ministry

One of the highlights of the time we had with the Student Fusion team was the multiple opportunities we had to minister at local schools. We got to start new ministries with schools around the Word of Life area so that we could reach the students of Joburg with the gospel, In total, we had the opportunity to minister to +-2500 students! Around 60 of them trusted in Christ as their personal Saviour. Please be praying for us as we want to start weekly youth ministries at these different schools.

Kids Ministry

We also had multiple opportunities to minister to kids at a preschool as well as at our various weekly kids ministries in local communities. The kids loved having this group of teens teach them new songs and games and just loving on them.

Community Service

In addition to all the opportunities for children and teen ministries, we also got to do several service projects for local churches including picking up rubbish, painting the interior of a church building & doing some landscaping.

Overall, it was a great 10 days filled with ministry. We continue to pray that the Lord would do great things in the lives of those who came to serve.

On August 5, I (Thato) got to go back to Bosasa after missing 6 weeks of going to the prison to see them due to other ministry obligations. It was great to see what the Lord is doing in each of their lives. I got to hear every individual story of how they struggled when they where not in God's word daily. Some got in trouble but in turn, saw that it was not worth it at all to live in regret. The Lord is good and He is working all the time, I can see it in the boy's lives & am thankful for all he is doing.

We are grateful for your prayers, support & encouragement as we continue serving Him.

Please pray...

- that we would be faithful in ministry & rely on the Lord.

- that the Lord would provide the remainder of our support
- that we would grow in our marriage & personal walks with the Lord

- continued discipleship relationships

- Thato's ministry at BOSASA (boys juvenile prison)

- Soccer tournament (evangelistic event) (August 17)

- Spring Braai Day (family fun day & evangelistic event) (August 31)
