From Darkness to Light

Thank you all for the prayers for us while we were at Mozambique. We had the opportunity to minister to 70 teens over 2 weeks & 6 of them made the decision to trust Christ as their Saviour. It was great being able to help lead, counsel, & share from God's Word during our time there. It is amazing to see the fruits from camp. I thank the Lord for Paulo's life & have loved seeing him grow into who he is today. Paulo got saved at this very camp while he was still in school & this year, I got to see him share with & challenge the students who were sitting in the very same chairs he was sitting in as a student when he gave his life to the Lord. Paulo now serves as an intern with the Word of Life Mozambique team. He continues to minister to many of the same students who were at camp at the student ministry that happens every second Friday at the school.

The dream team!

From a full team to almost half of them dropping out last minute due to various reasons, the Lord still provided just the right amount of people. Half of them were counseling for the first time at this camp & did an amazing job. The Lord surely knew exactly who he wanted to use & we are so grateful for his provision.

Week 1

During the first week of camp, I had 5 girls in my cabin, 2 of which were in my cabin last year. It was great being able to reconnect & pick up where we left off. The other 3 were attending camp for the first time. One of those 3, Joyce, comes from a Muslim home & was questioning what she believed. She asked a lot of questions about God & the Bible & as I sought to answer her questions, I just prayed that the Lord would lead her to understand her need for the 1 true God. On the last night, Joyce chose to place her trust in Christ!

Week 2

The Lord blessed me again during the second week by giving me, again, 2 of the girls I had last year. For 3 of them, this was their last year of camp as they will be graduating in December. It was so encouraging to hear how the Lord has been growing them since last year & see their desire to continue to grow in their walks with the Lord. By the end of the week after many great conversations where I had the opportunity to challenge & encourage them in different ways, each of them made very important decisions. Zeneen who comes from a Muslim home has been saved for a few years but decided she needed her mom to understand the seriousness of the commitment she's made to Christ. After some resistance, Sasha, after being asked by several people if she would consider coming to study at WOLZA after she graduated decided to begin praying about that option. We are so thankful for the Lord's work in each of these girl's hearts & are excited to see where the Lord takes them.

Please Pray...

- that we would be faithful in ministry & rely on the Lord.

- that the Lord would provide the remainder of our support

- that we would grow in our marriage & personal walks with the Lord

- teens who came to camp that they would follow through on decisions they made & continue to walk with the Lord

- upcoming trip in May (9-27) to the States where we will be involved in 2 weddings & raising support. Pray that it would be a fruitful time & that the Lord would use us to be an encouragement

We thank the Lord for leading us through 1 year of marriage & look forward to many more years ahead!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE, SUPPORT & PRAYERS. WE'RE SO THANKFUL FOR YOU!
