The Journey

From left to right: Biruk, Corina, Lis, Jack & Sihle.
The interns are now 2 months into their internship and are each doing a fantastic job. A few weeks ago, Biruk (pictured on the left), headed to his assigned field in Uganda. It was such a pleasure getting to know him and we are missing him already! Lis who has been serving as the kitchen intern since she arrived will also be headed back to the states next week as her 3 month internship is coming to a close. While we will be missing 2, we will be gaining another from Kenya soon provided that his visa comes through. Corina and Sihle have done a fantastic job working alongside the students and Jack has done a great job heading up maintenance. This year, I have the opportunity to disciple Corina while Thato has the opportunity to disciple Sihle. It's such a joy and privilege to be a part of their journeys and see all the Lord is doing in their lives.

Taking Camp to new frontiers

After years of anticipation, we had a great time at our Satellite Camp in Hazyview, Mpumalanga! It was a joy working alongside Xolani, a former student and intern at WOLZA who is now serving at his home church. He did a fantastic job of organizing and planning and as a result, we had a great group turn out with about 30 teens from 3 different churches.

Fearless for Jesus!

Thato had the opportunity to speak during the weekend of camp about being fearless for the right things. It brought our some great discussion as we talked about fearing people over fearing God. Many of the teens were challenged in the way they take a personal stand for Christ especially at school and among their friends.

Over the course of the weekend, we saw 3 teens trust Christ as their personal Saviour and 2 rededicate their lives to the Lord. We are so thankful for the opportunity we had to impact their lives and look forward to hopefully doing it again next year. Please pray for Xolani as he continues to minister to many of the teens and that the Lord would continue his work in the lives of the teens who attended.
Our awesome team (all of which were counseling at a satellite camp
for the first time.) They did a great job & we're so thankful for them!

God has given us so many different opportunities to invest in the lives of youth and young adults are we are so grateful to be a part of their journeys whether they are getting to know the Lord for the first time like some of our campers, or are learning what it means to really live sold out for Christ in all aspects of life like the interns. The Christian walk will forever be a journey which finds its completion when we are finally with our Saviour. Until then, we will keep pushing ourselves and others towards that goal.

Please pray...

- that we would be faithful in ministry & rely on the Lord.

- that the Lord would provide the remainder of our support

- that we would grow in our marriage & personal walks with the Lord

- Thato's ministry at Bosasa. One of the former inmates will most likely be coming to WOL as a student starting next term

- upcoming trip in May (9-27) to the States where we will be involved in 2 weddings & raising support
