Ultimate Impact
Spring Braai Day
On Spring Day, we held our annual Spring Braai Day; an opportunity for us to welcome both young and old, saved and unsaved for a fun day of activities, delicious food, and fellowship. Thank you to all who prayed for this event! This year we had over 150 people who came out to join the fun. 24 of those people trusted Christ as their Savior as a result of the gospel message that was shared and 2 chose to rededicate their lives to the Lord!
Leaders Conference
Since our last update, we have had two more Leaders Mid-year Conferences, one in Potchefstroom and one in Welkom, training youth, pastors, and leaders on the importance of discipleship in their personal lives and ministries as well as how to practically make it a priority and live it out. This was the first year that we held one of these conferences in Potch. We had 5 churches represented and about 47 who attended. Many of these churches were attending for the first time and benefited greatly from our time together. As a result of our time there, one of the pastors attending requested that we come do another leaders conference for some other churches that he works with.
Our time in Welkom was also encouraging and beneficial. And of course, it's always a pleasure to be reunited with our numerous alumni who are serving in the area. How encouraging it is to see the Lord using them to lead women's Bible studies, youth group, children's ministry & one has even taken on the pastoral role of one of the churches. We are grateful for the opportunity to catch up and encourage them as they lead.
Bosasa
Thank you for your continuous prayers. I really needed them and the Lord has used them greatly. In the last 2 weeks, we had some bumps in the road at Bosasa as the Government has gotten involved with their religious program. They asked the leadership at Bosasa to re-evaluate each program and person that shares with the boys and eliminate those they no longer want. I attended a mandatory board of review meeting with the leadership on Tueasday, and through your continuous prayers, we have been approved to continue ministering at Bosasa. We now have the opportunity to minister at BOTH centers in the prison as a result of the meeting. The Lord is good!
Women in the Word
As some of you know, a few weeks ago, some of our ladies on staff, including myself, had the opportunity to minister at a church in Soweto as they celebrated Women's Month here in South Africa. They handed the day over to us and we had the opportunity to share on different topics that were relevant to the ladies such as spending time at Jesus' feet, serving, and the role of women in the church. I had the privilege of speaking about sitting at Jesus' feet. This was my first time speaking to a group of women but the Lord provided the grace I needed as I shared the truth of His Word. It was a great day of spending time in the Word and fellowshipping with these ladies who expressed how encouraged they were from the different messages.
5:05
About three weeks ago, our local church decided to launch an evening service geared toward young adults and unchurched people. Thato & I were asked to be part of the leadership team for this ministry & a week later, we held our first 5:05 meeting; which as you can guess, begins at 5:05. We had a great launch and are seeking to intentionally reach out to our local community in order to grow the ministry & further spread the gospel. We are excited to see how the Lord will use this to reach many souls for Him.
Our desire in each of these ministries and events is that the Lord would use it to make an ultimate impact for the kingdom through the spreading of the gospel and the multiplication of disciples who are sold out for Jesus. We look forward to seeing the continued fruits of these ministries and how the Lord will continue to work.
